The Organizing Committee of the XIX Olympics Games, led by the architect Pedro Ramírez Vázquez, designed the components of the graphic identity of Mexico 68 such as the official logo, the typography, and the symbolic language of both the cultural and sports programme. These components took shape from a mix between the characteristics of the international movement known as OpArt, and the Huichol art, one of the most emblematic artistic expressions of the Mexican culture. The official design of the communication campaign Mexico 68 has been vastly adopted by citizens in the country and has become one of the most recognized and applied graphic identity in the history of the Olympic Games.
